Performing Arts School

Billericay, Essex

We focus on the experience of rehearsing towards an end goal; live productions!

HAPA founded by Helen Arber in 2013 is a performing arts school based in Billericay. In 2018 HAPA were lucky enough to move into their own premises at The Billericay Theatre. Offering a fully equipped 92 seat theatre, a state-of-the-art mirrored dance studio with sprung floors and air conditioning. Plus onsite parking and café with indoor and outdoor seating.

Here we are proud to teach ISTD and LAMDA Syllabi classes alongside a wide variety of genres including Musical Theatre, Choir, Street, Jazz Technique, Pre-school & Adult classes.

Our students have the opportunities to take part in annual shows and showcases and take ISTD or LAMDA examinations. Two of the world’s most prestigious examination boards. We also regularly participate locally in fetes, charity events and parties, as well as giving our students the opportunities to perform at large prestigious events such as Young Voices at the O2, The grand Prix, Britain’s got talent, Disney land Paris, The VIAM’S at the SSE Arena, plus much more.

At HAPA we believe in a process of learning through performance. Which is why we focus on the experience of rehearsing towards an end goal; live productions! But we also encourage our students to learn from each other and professionals and we will often hold in house workshops led by the best in their industries. Our most recent workshops have included Jodie Steele, Squires Combat and Emma Williams with Billionaire boy.

We welcome all students from all backgrounds, regardless of their ability or experience, and aim to identify the needs of each individual in order to enable them to reach their full potential. We believe in giving everyone a chance to shine!

At HAPA we also recognise it is important to pick the right school for your child, we pride ourselves in offering a safe and secure environment, with teachers that will nurture and bring out the best in them. We provide a unique commitment, engagement and trust that has developed due to the strong bond between students, staff and parents.

Classes at HAPA are a fantastic way for children to express themselves. We want our students to feel free, have fun, make memories, grow friendships and blossom in confidence and in talent.

Thank you for being such an amazing team! Our girls love attending HAPA and it’s been great to have such good virtual content for such practical subjects. It’ll be amazing when we can return to in person lessons and watch shows at the theatre but in the meantime, you guys are doing a fab job!

My daughter has been dancing at HAPA since the day it opened. During this time she gained a passion for dance and grown in confidence. I attribute this progress to the excellent teaching by Miss Jayne and the HAPA team.
